Farshad Karimpour M.D
When humans experience an acute illness or injury, they need a medical professional to take care of them (or their loved one) right away. Dr. Karimpour has dedicated his professional life to emergency and urgent care settings since 1998. He is board certified, was trained at East Tennessee State University – Bristol FM, a prestigious rural program. He has worked as an Emergency Doctor for many years.
His great passion is to help patients heal, in association with their primary care physician. He enjoys teaching as well, and is a faculty member of UCLA Family Residency at Kaweah Delta Medical Center.
Grateful for an amazing group of talented and dedicated people working at East County Urgent Care, is collaborating these capabilities to bring the “latest and greatest” to the wonderful community of El Cajon.
Father, husband, son, education advocate, musician and “Dr. K.” are some of his other tags in life.
Edward Reder M.D.
Graduate of Way State University College of Medicine. During Internship and Residency, interest grew in Emergency Medicine, so when moved to California, began a career working at a number of Emergency Rooms in San Diego and Los Angeles. In the mid 1980’s, I joined a new concept in Medicine, Urgent Care located in El Cajon. My focus has been in Urgent Care and Emergency Medicine for over 40 years.
Daniel Huhn M.D
Dr. Huhn completed his emergency medicine residency at Naval Hospital San Diego and then enjoyed a long career in naval medicine as an emergency physician and flight surgeon. For the last 3 years Dr Huhn has relished working at East County Urgent Care.
When not providing compassionate care to his patients, Dr Huhn enjoys spending time with his wife and four children. The whole family is very involved in boy scouts.
Calvin Wong, MD, FAAFP
Family Medicine, Sports Medicine
Dr. Calvin Wong is a board-certified Family Medicine and fellowship trained Primary Care Sports Medicine physician. He is a graduate of the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) School of Medicine and has practiced in San Diego for over 15 years. He is currently the Medical Team Physician of the NFL San Diego Chargers and part of the medical team for the AHL San Diego Gulls.
He is a California native, having been born in Northern California. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a B.S. in Biochemistry. After attending UCSD School of Medicine he completed a residency in Family Medicine at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Los Angeles. In addition, he completed advanced training in Primary Care Sports Medicine at UCSD. He has also achieved the honor of Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
As a volunteer clinical instructor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at UCSD School of Medicine, he has shown a commitment to the education of future doctors.
Andrew Saleh, MD, MPH
Family Medicine, Sports Medicine
Dr. Andrew Saleh is board-certified in Family Medicine and fellowship trained and certified in Primary Care Sports Medicine. He is a graduate of St. George’s University School of Medicine. He is currently the Medical Team Physician for the AHL San Diego Gulls and is part of the medical team for the NFL San Diego Chargers.
A native of Los Angeles, he completed his undergraduate training at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with a B.S. in Neuroscience. He obtained his Medical Degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine, where he also received a Masters of Public Health (MPH) degree. After attending medical school he completed his Family Medicine residency at Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey, and had the honor of serving as Chief Resident. After residency he completed advanced training in Sports Medicine at the University of Maryland, where he served as Team Physician for the University of Maryland Terrapins and the NFL Baltimore Ravens.
During his career he has maintained a passion for providing quality care in both Family Medicine and Sports Medicine. He is dedicated to building long-lasting relationships with his patients and providing individualized medical care.
Ellie Yip Zepeda DNP
Ellie Yip Zepeda graduated from New York University with a Bachelors in Nursing in 2009. She spent 5 years working as a Cardiology registered nurse while completing her doctoral studies at the University of San Diego. She graduated in 2015 as an Adult-Gerontology and Family nurse practitioner. She enjoys the fast pace of urgent care as well as providing care to her primary care patients.
Ellie lives in North Park with her 2 spunky dogs, Snowball and Churro.
